2024 is here and it’s about time you made that New Biz idea a reality

Stop deliberating and start somewhere…

So it’s 2024, and you’ve shared the meme, written the tweet, or said the magic words “This is my year”.

And with launch of this new year, the time is now to start making that statement a reality. Admit it, you’ve got a ton of ideas that have been stewing, or perhaps waiting for “the right time”.

Well, stop deliberating and start somewhere. I can tell you from the world of software development there’s no such thing as version one and done magic. You have to start somewhere, then the process begins.

On that note, it’s worth mentioning that, it doesn’t have to be a super-involved process either. Getting a new business/brand going online can be as involved as you want it to be. From my experience, the trick is not how quickly and perfectly you first launch something.

Instead, the key is to get something out and then be around for a long time. In other words – outlast the competition. No one remembers “TheFacebook.com” which ran on PHP back in 2005, just the super-powered version 670,650. Just saying.

That said, here are a few essentials to help you get started with building your new brand/business.

You need a domain name. It’s the address people use to find you ( i.e. yahoo.com ). You buy a name from a registrar, but it’s more like leasing a name because you renew registration every year, 2 years, 5 years ( you get the idea). Namecheap is a good choice for this. They have a lot of options and great prices.

Along with your domain name, you need hosting. Hosting is where your website lives. It’s essentially a computer ( the cloud ) somewhere out in the interwebs where all the website files are stored and served from. Your domain name points visitors to that computer. These computers or servers, rather, are specially configured and secured for this purpose.

So here are some recommendations to help you get started on the cheap:

Namecheap has a special: Get a FREE domain when you buy hosting!

If you’re thinking, “I don’t need much” or just have no idea where to begin with hiring a web designer/developer; then a good option to go with for hosting is Weebly. Weebly is an all-in-one platform powered by Square. It features an intuitive website builder tool that allows anyone to quickly assemble a simple website or online store. No coding.

Alternatively if you’re looking for something professionally made and managed check out our sister platforms: EX Folio and PresentingX. EX Folio is a platform ideal for, Real Estate Professionals, Photographers, Model, Influencers, Blogger, Consultants, Vacation Rental Operator and so much more as the platform is built on the WordPress content management system, featuring custom built themes and full managed plan options.
